1. FileSystemProvider: add option to handle file move with a dedicated method instead of GetContent/SaveContent

   We use the FileServer library to provide an SFTP layer on top of our cloud storage solution. In our use case we need to log every action that users perform on files and folders.
   The problem with current implementation is that a file move is treated - and thus logged - as a download followed by an upload.
   It would be nice to have a dedicated method for file/folder move instead.

   Imagine moving from WiFi to a LAN connection and not losing your SSH session.That's mosh. Remote terminal application that allows roaming, supports intermittent connectivity, and provides intelligent local echo and line editing of user keystrokes.

   Mosh is a replacement for interactive SSH terminals. It's more robust and responsive, especially over Wi-Fi, cellular, and long-distance links.

   We like Mosh. However, it has only been gaining traction slowly, which means that implementing a Mosh library would be a huge undertaking with questionable return on investment. Additionally, we are not quite sure that their key premise (“Practical latency on the Internet is on the increase”) is actually valid. Still, we will keep an eye on Mosh.

4. SSH connection when FIPS policy ON

   I am using Rebex binaries from Rebex Component 2017 R6.3 (Trial) I am using rebex.TerminalEmulation library to establish SSH connection with CISCO codec. The code works when FIPS is Off on my system but does not work when it is ON. The error says the following:

   Unfortunately, routers and hardware appliances or components are outside our area of expertise. We are a software company and have currently no plans for expanding into network appliance business. Sorry!

6. Please add support for themes, allowing us to load a SET of foreground and background colors with a single action

   I came across your product while using it in embedded form within RoyalTS. I opened a support ticket with them to ask for this very feature, and that it be setup in their tool so that what I load for use on a Mac with RoyalTSX works and looks the same way in RoyalTS on Windows. They said your product does not support this ability, and they can only leverage what your product supports.

   So, I thought I'd suggest this direct to you.

   How RoyalTS and you support custom ANSI color themes is not very helpful in enterprise settings. The ability to separately configure each terminal is close to useless, because it allows for each terminal's setting to get out of sync with other settings. What's most important, is to have a SINGLE override which applies to ALL sessions, unless they specifically override, and a way to clear out all such per-session overrides to enforce a global look and feel in a single location.

   Additionally, ANSI colors out of the box are cartoonish and garish, as well as very hard to read when presenting via screen share, presenting via projector, or just when working extensively on a terminal many hours per day. I normally use a Mac and use iTerm, within and outside of RoyalTSX, or the Atom editor. Both of these support "themes", and have communities which create a publish themes that allow changing all colors, fonts, etc by selection of a single value, which is then applied across all sessions and documents consistently. I don't have to set each normal and bold foreground or background color separately, at a global level or - god forbid as it is now - on each terminal session when I have to manage HUNDREDS of them. The bulk update feature in RoyalTS is the wrong way to solve this problem, as it continues to allow these sessions to get out of sync, and it gives me no easy way to indicate I don't want that flexibility, but want to make a single theme choice which globally applies - no exceptions. This is easy and what I feel most people I've spoken with want. Please look into http://atom.io and see what I mean by it's themes - having this product's choice of themes would be awesome.

   RoyalTS supports importing and using iTerm's themes, but only on a Mac. If you would at least support this interface for creating themes, users could set a single theme value and get the same appearance when accessing the same session from Windows or Mac.

   I work for HPE doing AWS Cloud, where I have to share cloud terminal sessions with a team using both Windows and Mac, so cross-platform similar appearance is important to us.

   This is valuable feedback, but it’s mostly out-of-scope for us. Third-party applications based on Rebex Terminal Emulation can already offer most of the features described. Please see the comment for detailed response.

7. Please modify IsConnected property of SFTP object

   Please modify IsConnected property of SFTP object which with check internally and reply that Server is Connected or Not. As you suggested that in your document , i need to write code sftp.Getfies(".") and Check it. It is very redundant code where i have property isConncted.

   We already provide Sftp.GetConnectionState method which mostly does what your suggested IsConnected property would do.

8. Want to reset the terminal control data

   I want to clear the data which is entered in terminal control, I've used ResetText(),Screen.Clear() methods to do so, but they couldn't help me out. Could you please suggest me the possibilities.

    Compressing them into a ZIP file or loading them from a ZIP file using Rebex ZIP component with Rebex Secure Mail component seems to be the most simple solution. If you prefer some other custom format – if you implement a custom container object with a Stream-based API, making Rebex Secure Mail work with it should be very simple.

12. Samples and Register?

    Tried to download the samples to test if Rebex FTP can handle multi-uploads the way i am expecting. Can't download them? just the trial? wtf?

    Also register account seems to be a hidden form somewhere on the site?

    Microsoft Sync Framework is no longer maintained and has recently entered the “extended support” phase, which means it’s nearing the end of its life. Supporting this deprecated technology is no longer worth the effort.

    Demand for .NET IPsec component seems very low because this technology is usually operated at lower layers. Unless this changes, we’ll concentrate on enhancing our TLS and SSH offerings.

16. IMAP Server component

    Rebex already has Imap Client component ( http://www.rebex.net/secure-mail.net/ ). It would be nice to have an IMAP Server component. Why? Writing a complete mail server is an obvious scenario. But it must be other creative ways how to use it. How would YOU use it?

    Unfortunately, we don’t foresee a bright future for XMPP any more. It looks like it has been mostly abandoned by the industry, and we currently have no plans to implement it.

    This would be useful, but we plan to concentrate on network protocol API in the near future, so this is somewhat out-of-scope. Sorry!

20. Provide the full path in FtpItem and SftpItem objects

    If you call GetList("/Some/Path/Here/.txt"), the resultant list will contain the file names that match *.txt from the /Some/Path/Here path but, the full path to the file is not included. It can then be difficult to get those files, I have to save and parse the parameter passed to GetList and I have to know how to combine it with a file name. This gets harder when there are multiple operating systems. OpenVMS could be DISK:[Some.Path.Here].txt
    It would be better we we could get the full path as supplied by the operating system.
